I studied chemistry in my undergraduate studies and graduated with a Ph.D. in computational chemistry, specializing in atomistic classical mechanical models applied to biomolecular systems. Through my work there, I became heavily involved in programming, implementing various models and developing novel tools for carrying out biomolecular simulation.
After my Ph.D., I spent about 2.5 years as a postdoctoral researcher before switching fields completely and taking a job as a software engineer at Lutron Electronics. In my 4 years there, I worked on backend cloud applications, internet of things (IoT) infrastructure, data engineering and data science projects, and DevOps.
After 4.5 years at Lutron, I joined a new startup company called Entos where I have worked on building up a robust DevOps capability to manage and maintain our infrastructure as well as developing new scientific tools to enable chemical discovery across numerous industries.
